This is a fairly short, simple, circular walk through Winkfield Row, Maiden's Green and Winkfield itself. The terrain is mostly easy and flat, using footpaths; being London Clay it can be muddy in parts after rain. There are a couple of short sections on pavements or alongside a short section of very minor road. Be warned that there are quite a few stiles on the route.
The White Hart is conveniently placed about halfway round the walk, opposite St Mary's Church. There is an Indian restaurant (The Cinnamon Tree) when you hit the main road in Maiden's Green and there is also a small Don Beni restaurant soon after the start (or just before the end!)
There are a number of interesting places along the route and much research has been done by the Bracknell Group of the U3A. (I am a U3A member). Their description of the walk is here http://www.u3atvnetwork.org.uk/Historic_Pathways_Winfield_Walk.pdf
I have taken a subset of their background information for the 'Additional Info' section and expanded the level of detail of the walk itself to that expected by Walkingworld members.
