The walk goes from the town centre and crosses the River Dee on the outskirts. The river is then followed for some distance before old tracks lead to the summit of the hill-fort and down again to the edge of town, where a short road-walk leads back to the start. The final climb to the summit of this Iron Age fort with its decaying stone ramparts is fairly steep, but on a good firm track. This is one of four walks from Corwen that are linked at the A5 bridge over the Dee and so can be joined to make a total of almost ten miles. Alternatively, you can pick and mix, which I think is preferable, as two of the walks are visits to ancient churches that need some time to visit properly.
