A tour of Todmorden

This walk starts at a car park for Todmorden sports centre which has easy access for driving. If using public transport there are two alternate start points.

The start of the walk follows a well made path across the top of the park to reach the station. You walk through the station car park and along a permissive path to reach a footbridge over the railway line. After crossing the railway you follow footpaths and a quiet road to reach the Rochdale Canal. The next section follows the canal past the town centre to reach a road across the River Calder. The last section follows the river upstream passing the bus station to reach the park. You follow a path through the bottom of the park to reach the start point. The walk uses rural roads, footpaths, a major road and a canal towpath.
