ThewWalk starts from the Abbey Village, which is a ribbon development along the A675. It makes its way around four nearby reservoirs. The first to be visited is Abbey Village Reservoir, built to top up Anglezarke Reservoir via The Goit. After a brief section along Witton Weavers Way, Rake Brook Reservoir with its 26m high earth dam wall is next. The third dam is Lower Roddlesworth; the walk crosses the 180m dam wall before continuing along the side of the Upper Roddlesworth Reservoir. The final section of the walk passes over open farmland with good views over Abbey Village and Roddlesworth Valley.
