Abbotsham is a small village just off the A39 about three miles on the Bude side of Bideford. It is very easily reached by car or bus; the Number 319 passes through the village en route fom Barnstaple to Hartland via Bideford. Abbotsham is very close to the theme park 'The Big Sheep' and also to Atlantic Village shopping centre. Abbotsham has a pretty church, St Helen's, with some interesting statues and pew ends and there is also a very nice pub in the village, The Thatched Inn.

Clarification of section 5 instructions. As you walk down the slope you will move away from the fence and soon meet a footpath crossroads. At this point take the right path - and then find yourself bearing down the slope to the right.
