This linear walk begins at the hamlet of Acharn on the south shore of Loch Tay and follows part of the Rob Roy Way along the south side of the Tay Valley to Aberfeldy. From Acharn a steep vehicle track climbs directly uphill to reach the Hermit's Cave, with a viewing gallery to the Falls of Acharn. Beyond the falls a farm track known as The Queen's Drive contours north-eastwards across the side of Kenmore Hill, with good views over Loch Tay, Kenmore and Ben Lawers. After a short distance on a minor road the track continues along the hillside, passing in and out of woodland with views to Schiehallion and across the Tay Valley. Try and spot The White Tower, built as a lookout for Taymouth Castle in the valley below. Finally the route climbs through birch woods to the head of the Birks of Aberfeldy and then descends on good paths alongside the Falls of Moness to Aberfeldy, passing Rabbie Burns on the way.
