If you have clear weather when you do this walk you will remember it for a long time... North of Ullapool, Achiltibuie is at the road end, a stone's throw from the Summer Isles, a group of skerries lying a few miles offshore. There are sails to them from Ullapool and Achiltibuie (viewing the dolphins and seals), but you can get lovely views of them on this circular coastal walk. Partly on narrow, seldom-used roads and partly on a good path, the route passes beneath Ben More Coigach and Cairn Conmheall, giving splendid views to the Islands, to An Teallach and to Harris in the Outer Hebrides. The walking is easy, it's a fine family walk, with footwear not a problem. If you have your dog you might meet sheep on the road... To add to the day's activities there is a sandy beach near the north end of Achiltibuie and you might like to visit the Hydroponicum (see Additional Information) in the village. There's a shop in the village and refreshments are available at the hotel. There's a small youth hostel at the start of the walk.

As stated originally this is a fabulous walk in clear weather such as experienced today. The views are just divine, the wonderful sense of wilderness and isolation throughout the walk and the true sound of silence (other than some great bird song, incl a cuckoo) will live long in the memory. It is even a delightful drive to the start! Well done and thanks
