From the village we descend along a concrete lane to reach the pretty viewpoint spot, at which we head steeply down to reach the cascade. There are ropes fixed to assist. We have to climb back and then continue steeply downhill through holm oak forests, very much domestic pig country, eventually to reach the tarmac lane. There is an option to divert downhill here to reach the attractive riverbank of the Rio Gemal. This would add about 3km to the walk length. We now plod steadily up the quiet lane until we fork off on the steep track or footpath, passing the ruined distillery that brings us back to the village.
