The walk starts south of Amberley Station, where there is a fine museum as well as a number of restaurants and a pub, The Bridge, serving good pub food. Then walk along the River Arun and up into Arundel Park with its grand vistas. Descend into Arundel with its castle, cathedral and wildfowl park.
Return by train or consider a circular route with Walk 3112, ably described by Dave Knight. This could be shortened slightly by taking a short cut through North Stoke (Walk 76), as much of the same stretch of river is used by both walks, but it is a fine stretch of river and no harm will be done by walking it twice. The circuit can obviously be done in either direction.
Both the Amberley Working Museum and the Arundel Wetland Centre are worth a visit.
Avoid the 24th of March, when the park is closed.
