Anstey Gate - Combe - Slade - Disused GWR Track - Bottreaux Mill - Molland - Brimblecombe

From high up on the open moorland of Exmoor, where in summer fantastic views can be enjoyed, but in winter biting winds and very poor visibility can be normal, down through woodland, typical Devon country lanes, disused GWR track to the very pretty, unspoilt village of Molland, this walk has it all.

In Molland stop at a very old country pub before climbing back up onto the open moor. Be prepared for some muddy lanes, boggy fields, but also some very pretty streams, gently sloping fields and the added bonus of a very strong chance of seeing both red deer and Exmoor ponies. A quite demanding walk but one I am sure, like me, you will want to enjoy more than once.

You don't get spectacular views if there aren't spectacular hills to climb to! This walk has both! We did it on a clear, sunny day, probably at it's best as the paths and bridleways were pretty dry. Stunning views, but be ready for some steep long climbs after about 7 miles, well worth it though. Excellent guide details
