A pretty, flat, circular walk that starts at the large car park beside the Yew Tree Inn (which they are happy for you to use if you intend to patronise them later). The walk takes you across fields to Abbot's Wood (here there is a pay-and-display car park and children's play areas if you prefer, £4 for 4 hours in 2021). The route passes the lake in the wood and rounds Michelham Priory and Gardens, which are open to the public from March 1st until the end of October. The route next passes the Cuckmere River and the remaining medieval stewpond, which was used by the priory to farm fish, then finally the interesting Saxon St Pancras Church.
