The walk starts from the car park at Rushall Manor Farm, where parking is permitted. Mainly a low-level walk with just a few short climbs, it passes through woodland where the community of plants includes many that are found only in woodland dating from before 1600 (such as aspen, wild cherry, bluebell, wood anemone, yellow archangel and sweet woodruff). Allow time to enjoy the two villages of Bradfield, dominated by the public school founded in 1850, where the Church of St Andrew, the old mill and 17th Century cottages form a much photographed group; and the quintessentially English village of Stanford Dingley, which boasts two excellent pubs, The Bull and the Old Boot Inn. An alternative start can be made from St Denys' Church in Stanford Dingley (Waymark 18).

A pleasant flat walk with easy parking at Rushall Farm, and very quiet, other than a brief encounter with the M4 at WM4. Can be very muddy between WM15-16 but was otherwise fine. Measured at a little over 6 miles by GPS. Updates to directions submitted to replace references to stiles with kissing gates and accommodate the minor footpath diversion at WM7.
