Delamere Forest Park is very popular place to be in summer with day visitors, ice cream vans, joggers, horse riders and strollers, all enjoying the variety of the scenery. This circular walk consists of forest, numerous moss areas with lakes, ponds, streams and birds; criss-crossed with numerous tracks and paths - and keep a sharp look-out for the 'monster' in the photo on the right. Most of the tracks are hard surfaced, wide and undulating but with no steep slopes and no gates or stiles. These are the paths that have been selected for this walk. On a fine summer's day you will need to arrive early as the verge parking slots will soon be taken. The walk features a large lake known as Blakemere Moss and your route follows this over half way round, often close to the bank. You can hear the birds on it long before you arrive. Apart from all the dogs being walked, you won’t find many other animals apart from the odd squirrel. Half way round is a 'Go-Ape' area with supervised zip wires, climbing ropes, nets and aerial walkways. If you follow the instructions very carefully you should not get lost, but take a map just in case.

At the half way point you pass close to a park café with toilets. you can take a short excursion to it if you wish. The walk is suitable for children, teenagers, senior citizens and anyone in-between; and is also excellent for dogs, wheelchairs & buggies. Suitable footwear will be anything flat soled, but strong trainers or stout shoes will fine; and boots will be best. There will be no problems for anyone wearing shorts. There are bench seats at several locations on this route and also a few picnic tables.
