This is a scenic town and country walk, visiting Inverness Castle, the cathedral and some other prominent buildings of the Old Town, but also promenading along both bonnie banks of the River Ness, crossing via the Ness Islands.
Information for Wheelchair Users: the route uses footbridges to cross the river and is virtually level throughout. There is a short tour around the streets, though this section could be omitted, in which case the wheelchair route could start from Ness Bank (Waymark 7) and finish by the cathedral (20), subject to available transport to set down and pick up.
Walk 2127 describes a yet shorter wheelchair-friendly alternative.
Information for Dog Owners: the walk is suitable for dogs on a lead.
