This walk, created in 2013 by the Ramblers and Wirral's Footpath Officer, has its own waymarking in places. The walk is advertised as 26km / 16 miles long, more than I want to do in a day, but I noticed a way of using public transport to divide it into two loops. The southern section begins at the pretty village of Thornton Hough and uses footpaths not yet mapped to reach the village of Raby. From there further paths and a short road section lead to the Wirral Way, which is followed to Parkgate (shops, cafes, pubs) and along the seafront to pick up the Wirral Way again before a series of cunning footpaths leads through to the bus station in Heswall for a quick return to the start.
