This is a walk with variety. There is plenty of the beautiful, subtle Suffolk arable landscape, but there is a short stretch (starting at Waymark 9) of what I call 'secret and mysterious' footpath. It's a delight. Also (starting at Waymark 10) the path runs alongside a mini-ravine with a stream, marked on the OS map as The Gull. There are only two stiles on the walk and the paths are well-maintained. There are just a few short sections of road-walking.

There is an excellent pub at Waymark 4, The White Hart at Otley (01473-890312). They are open all day from noon seven days a week and provide full and bar-meals.
