Ashreigny - Horry Mill - Horridge Plantation - Mullybrook Mill - Eggesford Forest - Ashreigny

Ashreigny is a very quiet, rural, North Devon village, but from its lofty position high in the hills above Eggesford Forset, it enjoys fantastic views of the surrounding area. This walk takes you down through meadows and woodlands to walk alongside Horridge Water, an area of great beauty, especially in early summer when the woodlands are full of bluebells or wild iris. You will pass two old mill houses with their adjacent streams and numerous very pretty Devon cottages, before climbing back up to Ashreigny through Eggesford Forest.

So pleased that you enjoyed the walk, Paul & Tracy, yes it can be a bit wet in places especially after all the rain we've had recently. Picture one is taken looking back towards the village square & church, the way you would have come if parking in the square, in which case you walk past the church hall on your left. Thank you, Dave

Fantastic paths through the woods along rivers and streams. It couldn't have been much wetter over the last week but the route was still passable, plenty of mud at gate openings though. Pretty flat walk considering the terrain, apart for Eggesford Forest section, that was a bit of a pull! Good walk guide, apart from the very first photo, which is a mirror image of what it should be! :-)

A lovely walk on a wet day in June with two dogs. Plenty of shelter not too much mud very little livestock. Lovely views, charming features and country meadows. Excellent instructions.
