This walk is easy and flat, with very few stiles, mostly kissing-gates, plus some walking on quiet roads. The variety of flowers and butterflies cannot be beaten, mainly because a lot of the ground has been left to run wild. Take binoculars and a pocket guide for butterflies and flowers.

Probably one for the winter months? We did this walk on a muggy day in May with many of the enclosed paths (and there's lots of them!) uncomfortably overgrown. You walk near lots of lakes but rarely see them, as the paths are so enclosed, just the last mile or so can you get a good view.

Did this walk in early December and despite previous rain was mainly mud free. There is a parking charge at Waterhay carpark (currently £3 for 6 hours). Alternative free car parking is available at the playing fields in Ashton Keynes at Waypoint 3 where you can pick up the route. Along the exit road from the playing fields there is a footpath exit on the left but not signposted; this is the exit the route wants you to take. If like us you followed exit road to the main road, turn left along the road a short distance and footpath is on your right.
