Ashwellthorpe is a linear village off the beaten track, so provides a good starting point. The start itself needs care as there is some evidence of new building work, which may change things. Not far into the walk we pass close to the Lotus car plant, followed by old farms and a good pub, The Bird in Hand. There are footpath diversions, so follow the notes rather than older OS maps.
