This splendid walk begins at The Avon public house in the picturesque village of Avon Dassett, visiting Burton Dassett and the surrounding country park, going on to Northend, then to the older part of Fenny Compton. The Burton Dassett Hills and Country Park are quite spectacular, a visitor attraction all year and a perfect place for kite-flying. There are fascinating names such as Magpie Hill, Windmill Hill, Bonfire Hill and Pleasant Hill, from where there are superb views over surrounding countryside. The lovely villages encountered add to the delight and enjoyment of this walk experience.

We loved this walk, including the steak hamburger bits we got fed at the Avon pub before we set off. There were a lot of sheep around so we had to stay on the lead for bits of it and a few of the stiles might give older or heavier dogs a bit of a problem as we had to jump them. Clear directions and a varied walk with panoramic views on the way. The Avon Pub was excellent for lunch before setting off. Amazed to discover such beautiful countryside so close to the motorway.
