Start and end at the village pub. Pass by the local lake and explore the local woodland. There's a general store and a tea shop in Balcombe, as well as a 13th Century church to explore with an award-winning lychgate, recently carved by a local sculptor to a design by a local artist. As with all the woods round here, the bluebells in late April and early May are a major feature.

Fantastic walk. We took our choc lab and she thoroughly enjoyed it too. Was a bit interesting walking with her through the heavily cow soiled field. No sign of cows though - not sure how we would have faired with her if the cows were present.

Just subscribed to walking world and this was the first walk from the website. A nice walk taking in farmland and woods, the kids enjoyed it even though they were a litte scared of the cows blocking the exit to one of the fields. Look forward to doing it again.

A lovely little stroll through some lovely countryside and woodland. The boardwark sections are particularly interesting. Walked on 4th Jan 2009 and whilst cold was still nice. There was an interesting dead tree with a ladder and platform up in the tree, very odd.! 10/10.
