This circular walk starts at The Green in the village of Banham, once famous for cider-making, now for the zoo which has many species of animals and birds there. Opposite The Green stands the 16th Century Guildhall which was once a jail. The 14th Century church has an unusual spire and the inside is well worth a visit. The walk passes, between Waymarks 16 and 17 over to the right, a farmhouse surrounded by trees. This was Kenninghall Place where Mary Tudor heard of the death of her father, King Henry VIII. She then rode to Framlingham Castle in Suffolk to proclaim her right to the English throne.
