From the car park at Banks, we use Hadrian's Wall to get us onto the local roads and away from the wall. The wall itself is used for the beginning and end of the walk only. We use quiet lanes and well-signposted footpaths to get around this fairly easy walk. There is one very little hill to get up. Although we use country lanes, we also use footpaths that go through fields and so the correct footwear must be worn. The footpaths are signposted but the walker must keep his or her eye out for them!

We enjoyed our walk very much today. We saw a heron and a young red deer. We did go awry between 5. and 6. but we easily found our way back after a short detour. Thanks so much.

Another great walk from Walking world and the author. Everything was accurate. We saw a dead lamb that had fallen over the edge at one point. Easy parking, a really enjoyable day.
