Barham – River Gipping – Bramford – Lt Blakenham – Gt Blakenham – Barham (GVRP4)

A delightful and varied walk that takes in a riverside path, a part of rural Suffolk with a remote feel to it and a silent and beautiful lane on Blackacre Hill.

The opening stretch of the walk is on the Gipping Valley River Path, including the length of the Bramford Meadows Local Nature Reserve. You then climb gently out of the Gipping Valley through agricultural country, which later feels quite remote with the route twisting and turning. After dropping down to Little Blakenham there is a gentle climb along a gorgeous little lane which is breathtaking at blossom time. This lane diminishes to a track and finally a footpath.

This walk is one of five linked walks. The ID numbers of the walks are 4697, 4723, 4745, 4760 and 4781. Each walk is circular and includes a stretch of the magnificent Gipping Valley River Path. If you do all the walks in ascending numerical order, as shown above, you will, in the process, have completed the whole of the GVRP.
