This is a very pleasant, easy half-day walk, depending on how long you tarry in the summer merenderos (beach bars) along the way. It can be done in either direction, returning by taxi to the start point, however finishing at the Fontenilla beach in Conil allows you to take your choice of any one of the many excellent beach or clifftop restaurants for a late lunch or dinner. The route follows the sea along the beach and clifftop between Novo Sancti Petri (Barrosa) and Conil, visiting the lighthouse and the very interesting local fishing harbour at Conil. The route continues across the cliffs to the Flamenco Beach, just off which local legend has it that Nelson was killed (Flamenco Square doesn't have quite the same ring to it as Trafalgar Square, does it?) Throughout the whole walk you have fabulous sea views along the whole coast down to the actual Trafalgar Point and on a clear day you can even see across the Strait of Gibraltar to North Africa and Tangiers.
