The walk is based on the welcoming Visitor Centre in Barrowford, making an anticlockwise circle via two reservoirs and returning along the Leeds - Liverpool Canal by Foulridge. There are no really steep climbs, although the ground is undulating and it uses some ancient tracks as well as crossing pastures. I found it an interesting walk despite having done it on a rather overcast and unpromising January day. I look forward to repeating it in the summer.

This walk is virtually on my doorstep, so glad I did it. Lowland walk done on the best day of the year in 2020. It was stunning! So peaceful calm and relaxing. Instructions easy to follow, will definitely do this one again.

Did this walk today in frequent showers. This is an excellent walk that has wonderful views despite no big climbs. The paths are good and really well sign posted, all of the gates and styles we passed through were really well maintained. I always carry a GPS device along with guide map and compass. I did not use my GPS today as the description is excellent and we did not put a foot wrong, a real credit to the author Jim Grindle. Looking forward to going back and doing this walk again in the summer.

One year on. Five star weather, five star walk. It would be great to incorporate this walk with another that goes the other side of the Water Meetings to make, say a 11 mile walk.

Excellent walk with small/medium dogs. Only a couple of stiles to cross. Main problem for bigger dogs are the squeeze stiles which are quite narrow, the first of which is WM04 which is probably the narrowest.

Having battled my way up Wolfhole Crag in Bowland in recent days, I decided a slightly friendlier walk was needed, and since the weather was quite inclement, a lower level route was required. This walk certainly fitted the bill. A steady start around the Water Meetings led to a simply superb stroll in the rain around Slipper Hill Reservoir, a place so quiet and serene it is almost magical. Then a drop down to the Leeds Liverpool Canal and the café at WP18 is definitely to be recommended. Foulridge Reservoir is also is also a treat. The only reason I didn't give this walk 5 stars is probably the incessant rain that kept dripping down my neck! Great walk Jim!
