From Wiveton Downs there are panoramic views of the coastline and countryside. The walk is through part of the Bayfield Estate, by kind permission of of Mr Combs who rents the land to Natural Surroundings, the Wildflower & Country Centre on the estate.

The route is beside the River Glaven, through woodland, along tracks and through the village of Glandford with its Shell Museum and unusual church.

A gem of a walk with beautiful scenery all the way. We saw a good variety of birds, particularly on the riverside by Bayfield Hall. The land is very well maintained by the Bayfield estate, with new gates and useful notices. There were no stiles making it a very dog friendly walk. The directions were easy to follow even though some things had obviously changed since the walk was first written. This walk is definitely one we will revisit, it's one of the best!

Lovely walk on a very chilly January day. Good directions and paths were very good for the time of year. Beautiful scenery, forests and streams. Point 5 red directional arrow now clearly marked permissive paths on green plaques. Point 3 we couldn't see a marker but the path is clear, just as you turn right into the lane by the river.

A very good walk with good variety of scenery. We did it on a sunny late April day which helped: it starts at a nature reserve which was golden with gorse. After a short quiet road section there is a picnic spot by the river. It then follows the river in a lovely wide valley and continues through the park beyond the house. After the road crossing you enter very pleasant woodland with bluebells underneath. There are ancient trees and some lovely open sections. The farmland is well cared for and managed for wildlife so dogs should usually be on leads. There are a couple of fields with cows in which did not trouble us despite their calves being right across the path. It seems odd to follow a map with no paths shown but with care it is easy despite the seemingly brief directions. The permissive paths and private areas are well marked and should be respected. Only a few Spring butterflies about but then it was a cold day (11C max.). The only real drawback is some rather smelly pigs near the nature reserve. I intend to give a little more information on the route separately.
