There are no difficult stiles on this gentle but beautiful walk, which starts with a section of the Gipping Valley River Path, enhanced by good views of quite a number of lakes on the opposite side of the river. You go past The Chequers in Great Blakenham, open at lunchtime from 12 to 3pm seven days a week and serving bar food and restaurant meals. Baylham Village is reached by an enticing footpath across a dry valley. Beyond Baylham you get a good view of the Gipping Valley and Shrublands Park before retuning to the start.

This walk is one of five linked walks. The ID numbers of the walks are 4697, 4723, 4745, 4760 and 4781. Each walk is circular and includes a stretch of the magnificent Gipping Valley River Path. If you do all the walks in ascending numerical order, as shown above, you will, in the process, have completed the whole of the GVRP.

Did this walk on a lovely October day. The first section by the river was lovely and then for the last half a mile or so the views across the valley were gorgeous. Muddy and sloppy in places but a clear walk, easy to find the way and very enjoyable- thanks
