Beddgelert - Welsh Highland Railway - Beddgelert Forest - Llyn Llywelyn - Beddgelert
From the picturesque village of Beddgelert, you begin by passing the Welsh Mountain Railway. If you have time you could organise a journey which could fit in nicely with the walk. With stunning views along the walk and a breathtaking backdrop of the valley and surrounding rolling hills, you may also get to see one of the many steam trains that pass through at various stages.
You proceed up around the lower edges of Moel Hebog and up into Beddgelert Forest, with its many meandering and beautiful paths and tracks, walking alongside rivers and gentle, cascading waterfalls, giving opportunities to extending or shortening the walk as you please. Enjoy a picnic at the stunning setting around Llyn Llywelyn, which has a designated picnic area that really does take your breath away. Continue along the high ridge forest tracks with amazing views across the valley and Snowdonia, before descending on paths over beautiful streams and back in to Beddgelert.
