Beeding Hill - Southwick Hill - Monarch's Way - Saddlescombe - Devil's Dyke

A South Downs walk for short winter days or longer strolls ending up with the Devil's Dyke, the South Downs Way plus views far out to sea. This circuit was (successfully) chosen pretty much at random to discover an area I don't know at all. It follows clear paths over the downs with a variety of scenery: open downland, farms and stables, a golf course for those so inclined and it was relatively deserted most of the way round, despite a close encounter with a dual carriageway.

Well I hand it to you. You CANNOT beat this walk for views and directions. Simply 100% spot on, great walk. Trust us however, you WILL ache afterwards. It's a long walk and there is a lot of hills to climb (pity we didn't notice the 610m height gain at the start!). However, don't let us put you off this is WELL worth the effort as there is SO much to see and the views are spectacular. The road sections were not at all bad at all so don't let this put you off either. Well done. 10/10.
