Starting from the car park by the A86, a short walk-in on a forest road and a short but boggy path leads to the grassy slopes of Beinn a' Chaorainn. A strenuous climb up its south-west ridge is rewarded with great views and a leisurely walk along the flat ridge linking its three tops. Beinn Teallach lies directly west of Beinn a' Chaorainn across a steep-sided valley, but a high col at the head of the valley links the two peaks with only 300 metres of re-ascent. A long, gradual descent on a broad, grass-covered ridge followed by a river crossing leads back to the forest road and the car park.
