This popular walks climbs to the top of a rock dome in the heart of the Trossachs region of Scotland. The excellent paths climb through a forest woodland following a lovely river. Above the tree line, a hill path leads on to the steep summit. The path has tough steep stretches and stout footwear should really be worn. The summit views are breathtaking and well worth the effort.

Currently the Ben A'an Car Park and lower part of this route are closed off for forestry work. An alternate route from the Ben Venue car park has been established. The alternate is however very boggy and despite duckboarding, rubber matting and fixed ropes in some places it would be difficult after heavy rain. We did the walk on Whitsun weekend and underfoot conditions were fine if a little damp. The work is expected to continue until autumn 2015
