This remarkable little hill lies to the south of the village of Callander at the edge of the Menteith Hills. After an easy ascent through Callandrade Forest and out onto the open hill on a good forest road, the views suddenly open up towards Ben Ledi and the Callander Crags. The view from the summit is quite remarkable - a panorama of Loch Vennachar and Loch Lubnaig opens up before you.

From the riverside car park in the village of Callander, you walk along to the stone bridge over the River Teith and past some fine houses. This is followed by a walk up through Callandrade Forest (this has been harvested and you now have unrestricted views towards Ben Ledi and the Callander Crags).

The route continues up through the forest and you have to negotiate several T-junctions on the way. Eventually you break out of the forest and the whole of the Trossachs lies before you. Scramble over a five-barred gate with an interesting collection of padlocks. The summit is not a pretty sight; a collection of radio masts clutter it. Walk round the masts and you will be rewarded with a wonderful panorama of the surrounding countryside.
