The Scots talk of 'Guid gear in sma' bulk' and it is an apt description of this small mountain. At 528 metres it looks unimpressive when compared to its grander Highland neighbours, but none can surpass the views from Ben Hiant on a clear and bright day.

To the east lie Ben Resipole (itself a super walk; and on a clear day the Outer Hebrides of South Uist and Barra may be seen) and Ben Nevis, with to the west the islands of Tiree, Coll, Muck, Eigg, Rum, Canna and Skye. The walk time will really depend on how often you stop to marvel and take photographs. Although it is a constant climb, the short steep, near-scramble sectors are interspersed with almost flat areas and you will be surprised how quickly the summit is reached.

Other than when there is a heavy snowfall the narrow path is always evident. The path is not shown on the OS map.
