Just south of Meriden and a short drive from Birmingham lies the historic village of Berkswell. What it might lack in size, it makes up for in charm, from the medieval church to a pub that housed Cromwell's troops during the war, to some spectacular rural scenery. This walk takes in all these sights and gives you a great view of the area, without wearing you out. The walk uses some of the area's major trails (Heart of England Way and the Millennium Way), as well as some of the trails less travelled, but no less interesting. You can start from a convenient car park area right on the Meriden Road and soon be strolling along paths through the lands of the former Berkswell Estate.

Since the start of 2022 HS2 has arrived! This means that some of the walk is now alongside the construction work. But this is soon left behind and a more rural setting is quickly resumed.
