Berwick St John is a very quiet, sleepy village tucked away from main roads and traffic and the walk starts near the village pub, The Talbot Inn. The route is entirely within the West Wiltshire Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and although there are some very fine views, there are no steep ascents or descents. Paths are good throughout and wayfinding is easy. At about the halfway point (Waymark 6), there is a wooden bench commanding a particularly fine view and this provides an excellent location for a refreshment stop.

Completed this walk on a beautiful, shining winter morning in February. Stunning views throughout & lots of opportunity to see wildlife at play, also the delightful sights of watching early lambs bounding about the fields & snuggled up in the barns. This is definitely one not to miss.

Picked the right day to do this walk on, 15th, hottest September day on record? sure felt like it! Not too hilly considering how high up you feel. Fantastic views, easy route to follow

A good circular walk in a beautiful area. This area has many disused bridleways and footpaths so it was good to relax and enjoy a well defined route. All of the stiles and gates were dog friendly, the views were fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Ryder. Sylvia and Tony Saunders and Jagger dog.
