This short walk on the Wirral, although in an urban setting, climbs high above its surrounding suburban sprawl and lets you see way beyond it to the Pennines and North Wales. At its best you are unaware that the hill is only a remnant of the countryside.

In addition there is an amazing amount of historical and industrial interest in a very compact area, while the Tam O'Shanter Urban Farm is of interest in itself and will give a lot of pleasure to family groups in particular.

If travelling on a Sunday the train service between Bidston and Upton is non-existent, I walked both ways
