6m circular walk starting from base of Billinge Hill and ascending it to enjoy views north, south, east and west from highest point in Merseyside. The descent passes through Coppice Wood, which was a stone quarry still clearly visible and onto Longshaw Wood. The route through Longshaw Wood follows a stream into Orrell Waterpark, which was built for water storage but is now a public park with cafe, picnic tables etc. Upon leaving the waterpark the walk crosses Orrell past two pubs before rejoining open countryside. This return route follows west flank of Billinge Hill with more great views over Welsh and Cheshire Hills before descending back to start with views over St Helens and Runcorn, including the old Runcorn Bridge and the new Mersey Gateway Bridge.
