Binfield Heath (not to be confused with Binfield, which is just north of Bracknell) is just a hamlet, but it affords a convenient quiet road where you can park at the start of the walk. For some of the way the route follows the south-western extension of the Chiltern Way, which makes waymark detection easier. There is a local store at the start of the walk. The route was chosen because it is a very quiet area, little-known, but well worth exploring.

A very pleasant walk for a sunny afternoon, though I'd imagine it would be fine in the winter as well, maybe with a bit of mud here and there. There were stretches through wooded glades too, which gave a break from the sun. Now the important part, as of September 2019, both pubs on the walk were open again. Hic!

Another great walk from Chris, with particularly lovely views through Crowsley Park and other sections of the Chiltern Way. Mostly good ground underfoot with only the field at WM13 proving a thickly muddy bog (it could be bypassed in the wetter seasons by turning right on the minor road at the end of WM12 and then left up the unsigned Sandpit Lane). The pub at WM2 was still closed as of Feb 2016 but Orwells at WM19 was open again.
