Bishop Middleham - Hardwick Hall Country Park - Sedgefield - Bishop Middleham

A pleasant family walk in the low-lying area of south-east Durham, starting from the lovely old village of Bishop Middleham. Field-walking through countryside dotted with lakes then follows as the route meanders its way to intersect and enter the beautifully restored Hardwick Hall Country Park, with its lakes, follies, statues and network of thoughtfully created paths. The route then leaves the park and makes the short trip to the neighbouring ancient village of Sedgefield. From Sedgefield the route passes through the huge complex of Knotty Hill Golf Course on an absolutely delightful walk through areas of tree plantations that at most times hide the course. A little further undulating walking through fields, lanes and woods returns the walker to Bishop Middleham.

Excellent walk through gentle countryside with interest given with walk through Country Park. The directions were very clear- the easiest directions to follow I've used! Well done!
