Bishop's Castle with its rural atmosphere is a splendid country town from which to start and finish a walk. We pass its church which is worth a visit on the return leg.
The walk goes out of the top end of the town and in no time into open fields. Views of Corndon and Norbury hills are very rewarding. Part of the walk crosses the border into Wales and then comes back into the town from the south, joining part of the Shropshire Way. Part of this follows a stream on low-level pastures which can be a little bit muddy after wet weather.
