I've been for many walks from Blagdon and I have been for many walks in the Charterhouse / Cheddar area, but until I saw this, it never occurred to me to connect the two!

Starting from Blagdon, you get the fine view of Blagdon Reservoir and climb up the hill beyond, where your view expands to encompass Chew Valley Lake and even the Severn and Wales beyond (on a fine day).

You cross fields to reach the Velvet Bottom Nature Reserve, which you go through. Your return takes across more fields and a bit of wood before returning you to the start.

I did this walk on 01 June 2018. Hot and steamy weather. A really lovely walk.

Really enjoyable walk especially on a clear and sunny day. The walk along Velvet Bottom is eerily peaceful. If you are lucky (like me) you may meet the large herd of Exmoor ponies on Blackdown. Lots of farmed pheasants in and around the woods towards the end of the walk. The field you walk through in Waypoint 23 leading to the fence pictured is extremely muddy and churned up by cattle - much more muddy than the one mentioned in the additional info section for Waypoint 22. Luckily today the field was frozen so I could walk over the mud rather than sink into it.
