From Buckham's Bridge we journey into some of the remote hills of the Coquet Valley, following the quiet hill road to reach Chew Green Roman Fort. Here we skirt the fort, now walking on the Pennine Way along the Border Ridge. Here on a clear day we get distant views into Scotland as well as across to the coast. On reaching the Yearning Law Mountain Refuge Hut, we leave the Pennine Way to walk down the valley of Blindburn and reach the road, which we follow back up to Buckham's Bridge and our walk's end.
