This walk was originally compiled by Alan and Janet Love, sadly both are no longer with us. Alison Gilbert has kindly offered to take them over. Alison and Walkingworld would like all these excellent walks to remain as a continuing tribute to Alan and Janet.

This walk takes in the ups and downs of the South Downs and visits two villages and Charleston Farmhouse. Charleston became an important focus for the Bloomsbury Group in the inter-war years. Berwick Church is famous for its murals painted by the Bloomsbury Group.
There is one steep hill on the walk and paths can become slippery when wet, therefore stout footwear is desirable.

A simply stunning well mapped out walk. Best on a fine Sunday afternoon, we took this walk last Sunday, 11th Dec 05, and the weather was superb. Great and varied scenery and good highlights such as the churches and hills. Well worth it.. Excellent! 10/10
