Box Hill is a famous Surrey beauty spot. It takes its name from the box trees that grow in abundance and is also reputed to have the finest yew woods in Southern England. Renowned for its outstanding views, the walker is assured a splendid panorama in all directions. Beautiful at any time of year, it is especially glorious on a midsummer morning. With its mix of woodland and chalk downland, it is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna.
Well-trodden paths with no brambles or nettles, just some hills to climb; the middle section can be muddy after wet weather.
