This circular walk starting at Braintree Station takes in part of the 15-mile Flitch Way which was a former railway line between Braintree and Bishops Stortford. Then the route follows field-paths, bridleways and lanes before arriving at the beautiful Great Notley Country Park with its huge fishing lake. Even though you don't pass the visitor centre, it's only a short diversion if you wish to.

All the country lanes walked were very quiet apart from a seventy-yard section at Waymark 23, where there are no verges. There are some lovely views at certain points along the route, which makes this walk very enjoyable.

Refreshments can be found at The Astronomer pub between Waymarks 6 and 7 and at Great Notley Country Park Visitor Centre. All paths were dry and clear when this walk was submitted (July 2022) making this an ideal family walk.
