This circular walk starting at Braintree Station takes in part of the 15 mile Flitch Way which was a former railway line between Braintree and Bishops Stortford in the heart of rural Essex.

En-route you will use field paths, a couple of beautiful enclosed paths, pass through a working airstrip before arriving at the village of Panfield. The return will see you using more field paths before the walk turns residential eventually passing through Braintree Town Centre (market days Wednesday and Saturdays) before returning to the station.

Apart from the pubs in the town centre you also get a chance to pop in The Bell pub in Panfield (waymark 14) where you will have completed 3.8 miles.
