From Bramford the walk takes you along the last 4.5 miles of the Gipping Valley River Path into Ipswich. This is considerably less of an industrial wasteland than one might imagine. Getting out of Ipswich to return to Bramford involves a relatively small amount of road-walking, before completing the exit through Gippeswyk Park and Chantry Park. On the far side of Chantry Park you are clear of Ipswich and complete the walk back to Bramford via Sproughton.

This walk is one of five linked walks. The ID numbers of the walks are 4697, 4723, 4745, 4760 and 4781. Each walk is circular and includes a stretch of the magnificent Gipping Valley River Path. If you do all the walks in ascending numerical order, as shown above, you will, in the process, have completed the whole of the GVRP.

Really enjoyed this walk,but some of the directions needs updating,At waymark 7 the path ends so you do have to take the road bridge here.After turning right along the road,Stoke Street is no where to be found.So i had alter the directions to Gippeswyk Park.After tuning right along the road you come to a busy crossroads.Go straight on sign posted to the station.About 400 yards up on the right is Ancaster Road.Turn here,then enter Gippeswyk Park via the gates 50 yards up on the right bringing you to waymark 8.At waymark 9 there is now a clear path heading across the grass towards the lamppost. At waymark 10 after entering Chantry Park,some marker posts are missing.So after walking down the right edge of the park and turning left,you need to take the 2nd track on the right by a seat to arrive at the gravel path. At waymark 11 after going through the hedge gap,follow a path half right heading for a gap in the trees as the marker post is missing.After turning right at the pond you soon arrive at a fork,take the right one to arrive at the road. At waymark 12,all the stiles have gone.At waymark 14 the unsigned path now has a marker post.Please note the toilet block at the start is now boarded up.Walk turned out to be 9.3 miles
