The whole route is on woodland paths within the Brandon Forest. On the wider grass paths, wildflowers and butterflies can be seen. Along the forest paths and crossing the tracks, muntjac deer can be spotted. Halfway round there is a cafe, shop and toilets. There are special children's play areas, one with sculptured large and small animals. There is also a squirrel trail.

The route was very hard to find with the description at point 9, mainly, I think, because of the disappearance of "the green marker-sign with ‘no cycling’ and a footprint on it". I was able to pick up the route again about half a mile further on. I intend to do this walk (a truly wonderful one) later in the year and will attempt to find the right turning and provide an alternative description. A similar problem existed for me at point 12, and I will also feed back on this next time.
