Although this walk does start a little 'in the middle of nowhere', it does so for a reason. A little over halfway round you'll find Welton. This is a charming village with plenty of seating for picnics and an excellent pub, The Green Dragon. If you visit, you will see straight away that this is a pub with a history, but its unusual claim to fame is that Dick Turpin was finally arrested here. See the infamous highwayman's entry on www.wikipedia.org to read this fascinating story.

The walk takes us around to Welton via some very pleasant woodland, before a short road stretch giving excellent views across the Humber Estuary to Lincolnshire.
